Cairns resident Peter Romer, who objected to an application to build a mosque for the Muslim community, which numbers less than 200. Asked if he thought that Cairns was at risk of a terrorist attack, Romer told The Australian:

“It will be now. Their objective is to spread their tentacles throughout Australia, bit by bit. The judge hasn’t thought of that.”
