“Stations of the cross.” Syndey Morning Herald.

“Devil’s work.” Daily Telegraph.

Two headlines in response to the strike threatened by the Rail, Tram and Bus Union, which would coincide with the height of the World Youth Day celebrations. Morris Iemma has responded to the union’s demands, saying:

“The Government will not be blackmailed into giving them what they want as a result of these industrial terror tactics. The threat to embarrass the state on one of the most important days in its history cuts no ice.”
