So God is to blame for the mess in NSW?

How else to interpret the article (“How God inspires my rule of NSW” in the print edition) by Premier of NSW Morris Iemma in Tuesday’s Daily Telegraph in which he writes:

“My faith directly influences my Government’s policies in areas like mental health, disability services and housing for the needy and homeless.”

But not, presumably, energy and transport; perhaps those of the work (judging by the unhappiness they cause) of the Devil. Given Iemma’s unpopularity and moves afoot to unseat him, it’s just as well that his faith also helps him achieve a sense of “inner calm, understanding and forgiveness”.

“It’s important,” he reminds readers, “to never lose balance or perspective.”
