“That is such a disgrace and I’ve lost all faith in the system because there are so many athletes who are slipping under the radar. That’s not sport. It’s plain cheating and we need to be vigilant in nailing those who cross the line.”

Australian track star Tamsyn Lewis complains just ahead of the Beijing Olympics. She didn’t get much sympathy from former Olympic competitor Steve Moneghetti, who said she was just looking for excuses.

“Yeah, God, it’s disappointing just for our sport and for the Olympic Games for Tamsyn to come out and say that. Why would you say it? I find it bizarre. It just detracts from our sport at her own personal gain or situation so that’s what disappoints me. She is thinking more about her own situation rather than our sport that we all love and do for the right reasons, not the wrong reasons.”
