Serial letter-writer Con Vaitsas of Ashbury weighs in on Australia’s culture of drunkenness:

“It is seen as a badge of honour if you did something risky, darking and/or stupid while drunk. Unfortunately this behaviour is rarely condemned but accepted as part of being a ridgy-didge Aussie, especially if you are a sportsperson or C-grade celebrity.”
