“I’m pretty disappointed in Dan that he didn’t have the decency to come and speak to me after the game … rather than air his thoughts at a press conference. I think the polite or decent thing to do was to come and ask me. He’s played a lot of cricket now and he knows too well what happens with these situations. I was very shocked to read [yesterday’s] paper, that he didn’t come and speak to me, [I’m] pretty disappointed that he’s questioned my integrity, I think it’s quite poor.”

Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin hits back at Black Caps captain Daniel Vettori for implying that he had cheated by claiming a false dismissal during the match in Perth. The New Zealanders believe that Haddin knocked the bails with his gloves.

Andy Moles, the New Zealand coach, said that Vettori would not apologise. “The captain had a word on our behalf … we’ve said what we want to say about it. I think it’s been well-played on the TV and everyone can draw their own conclusions. I don’t think the words Dan used were over the top, I think he said it as he saw it.”
