“If you look up the word imbecile in the dictionary, you will see a picture of this bloke. He is an absolute halfwit. All this proves is that voting for senate representation is a farce, and needs a drastic review. You have two people in the Senate like this bloke and Xenophon who have received a handful of votes form people yet they have the ability to dictate terms in the Senate. Family first, yeah right Stevie boy. More like headline first so you can get your melon in the paper.”

Daily Telegraph reader Danny Wilson of Baulkham Hills on the most powerful man in Australian politics, Family First Senator Steven Fielding.  Other readers, like Steve of Canberra,  took Fielding’s side:

“I say good job, thank God someone is keeping the bastards honest.”

“Steve Fielding, Family First Senbator, thinks we now need to have someone tell us just how much cash we can withdraw from pub and club ATMs. Does this idiot not realise that no t everyone who uses an ATM at these venues is addicted to pokies? Keep your stinking hands off my cash, Steve Fielding.”

Tracy Wright, comment, Daily Telegraph.
